Screening: work by OJOBOCA, Sunday, November 17, 2019, 7:30pm

Please join us on Sunday, November 17th, 2019, at 7:30pm for a screening of work by OJOBOCA (Anja Dornieden and Juan David González Monroy). The event is free and open to the public.

Anja Dornieden and Juan David González Monroy are filmmakers based in Berlin. They work together under the moniker OJOBOCA. They have presented their films and performances in a wide variety of venues and festivals worldwide, among them the Wexner Center for the Arts, Vienna Film Museum, HKW, Künstverein München, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Berlin Film Festival, Visions du Réel, RIDM, Ann Arbor Film Festival and Edinburgh International Film Festival. Dornieden and González Monroy are members of the artist-run film lab LaborBerlin.

All this material was found. From what we can gather, it makes up some sort of psychological test. A couple, seemingly non-professionals, created the test. We don’t have their names, only their initials: B and K.

In a box we found two film cans and a folder. Inside film can A there was a roll of 16mm picture negative. Inside film can Bthere was a roll of 16mm sound negative.

We present our existing attempts at creating a new insect cinema based on the theory of spirit anarchy put forth by Dagmara Král, creator of the first insect cinema.
