Sommer Browning, Joke Museum, City Park Jazz, Sunday, June 26
What happens when you tell a joke in a museum and there are too many people around to hear it? Maybe all the blood rushes to your face. Maybe you get kicked out. Maybe you don’t even tell it, which is the worst sin of all. The Joke Museum is an installation designed to unshame, break down & open up. Visitors will be surrounded by hundreds of jokes, some they know and some that they don’t, and a few joke artifacts presented as museum exhibits.
Sunday, June 26, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Counterpath tent at City Park Jazz, Sommer Browning present the Joke Museum.
Browning’s new book with Counterpath, You’re On My Period, will also be released at this event, with discount copies available.
Featured in Denver’s Westword, Friday, June 24.
Sommer Browning’s latest book of poetry is Backup Singers (Birds, LLC; 2014). She’s a librarian in Denver.
