Community-Led Redistricting and Displacement Forum, Saturday, March 12, 2022, 2pm-4pm
COMMUNITY-LED REDISTRICTING FORUM Saturday, March 12, 2022, 2pm-4pm virtual and in-person Denver’s East Colfax neighborhood will open a space for discussion of the current redistricting process and its effect on Denver neighborhoods, like East Colfax, at high risk of displacement. All are invited as we assess the current maps under discussion by Denver City Council, the process for arriving at these maps, and likely outcomes for neighborhoods at most risk of displacement. In addition to centering anti-displacement in the redistricting process, topics will include the role of an independent redistricting commission (which Denver does not have) and changing the city charter to protect those at risk. We also invite all first-hand voices from affected neighborhoods, which include those with the lowest of Denver’s “equity score”:? |
