The Politics of Poetry in Translation, a Two-Day Festival, October 11-12, 2019, at CU Boulder and Counterpath

Please join us for a 2-day politics in poetry-in-translation event: Friday and October 11 and Saturday October 12, 2019. Including visitors: Leslie Kaplan, Joshua Clover, Jennifer Pap, Johannes Goransson, Kazim Ali and Aditi Machado. All events are free and open to the public.


Friday, October 11: 4-5:30 A panel featuring Clover, Goransson, Ali and Machado. Panelists will discuss recent translations of poetry that they find political necessary to us now. 
5:45-7: A discussion and reading with Leslie Kaplan, Julie Carr and Jennifer Pap. We will discuss and read from Excess-The Factory, but also from Kaplan’s recent writing about the Yellow Vest protests in France.  
Friday’s events are in the English Department Student Lounge, Hellems, on the CU Boulder campus. 

Saturday, October 12: Free Translation workshop for graduate students from Naropa, DU, CUB, CSU and Metro with Johannes Goransson. Precise time TBA, probably around 3pm. At Counterpath. Interested students should email for more information at Juliealicecarr@gmail.com. Workshop will be capped at 10. 


Saturday night, October 12: A reading of works in translation with Clover, Goransson, Ali, Machado, and Kaplan. 7pm at Counterpath.
