Counterpath hosted a reading by Janice Lee, and Sueyeun Juliette Lee on Saturday January 16, 2016, at 7 p.m.


Janice Lee is a writer, artist, editor, designer, and instructor. She is the author of KEROTAKIS (Dog Horn Press, 2010), Daughter (Jaded Ibis, 2011), Damnation (Penny-Ante Editions, 2013) a book-length meditation on the films of Béla Tarr, Reconsolidation (Penny-Ante Editions, 2015), and The Sky Isn’t Blue (Civil Coping Mechanisms, forthcoming, 2016). She also has several chapbooks: Red Trees, Fried Chicken Dinner (Parrot/Insert Press), The Other Worlds (Eohippus Labs), and The Transparent As Witness (Solar Luxuriance), a collaboration with Will Alexander. She currently lives in Los Angeles where she is Editor of the #RECURRENT Novel Series for Jaded Ibis Press, Assistant Editor at Fanzine, Executive Editor of Entropy, and CEO/Founder of POTG Design. She currently teaches web development to low-income women at Codetalk and Critical Studies at CalArts. She can be found online at http://janicel.com.


Sueyeun Juliette Leeunnamed-1
grew up three miles from the CIA. Her books include That Gorgeous FeelingUnderground National, and SOLAR MAXIMUM, just out from Futurepoem Books. She’s held artist residencies in poetry and video art at Kunstnarhuset Messen (Norway), Hafnarborg (Iceland), and the UCross Foundation (Wyoming). A 2013 Pew Fellow in the Arts for Literature (Poetry), she reviews contemporary poetry for The Constant Critic, a project of Fence Books. In 2006, she founded COROLLARY PRESS, a chapbook series dedicated to innovative multi-ethnic writing. She currently works as the Events Manager at The Gathering Place, a women’s shelter.
