Counterpath Events Intern

Deadline for query and resume: March 8, 2013

Please contact Ariella Ruth at arg@counterpathpress.org (who is only in the office and checking email on Thursdays and Fridays) with a query letter and resume by March 8, 2013. Interviews will be conducted the following week.

Hours: Between 5 and 10 hours a week (flexible and negotiable). Must be available to start immediately.

Compensation: Volunteer/unpaid (hours available for college credit).

Duties: Publicize and develop audience for Counterpath events. Visit local universities, galleries, theaters, book stores, cafes, and so on, to distribute fliers and calendars of upcoming events. Other duties include posting events to listserves and organizing email and social marketing. Tasks may also include helping out during Counterpath events, and other tasks as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required: Must be articulate, friendly, have great interpersonal communication skills, have a strong interest in art/theater/film/performance/writing/music, feel confident talking to people in the nearby art communities and making contacts, and feel comfortable working independently. We are looking for someone preferably from the theater, film, art, or music community who is passionate about engaging with people and helping to draw an audience for events. Proficient skills in Microsoft Word. Graphic design skills a plus. Strong preference for someone who has a valid driver’s license and access to a car.
